Steve Forman is the father of soccer player Allison Forman, severely injured in the crash. Allison was thrown from her seat, ejected from the bus, and then dragged underneath the bus as it slid toward the ditch. She and another teammate were trapped under the bus for over an hour before rescue. Allison's left elbow was crushed and she lost much of the use of her left wrist and hand. Steve has testified before the Texas House of Representatives Education and Transportation Committees, the Texas Senate Education and Transportation Committees, and the US Senate Commerce Committee. He has given presentations to numerous industry and parent groups including Natl Assoc. of State Directors of Pupil Transportation (NASDPTS) and the Student Transportation Association of Indiana. Steve and his wife Jeanette have two other daughters, one in college and another in the 9th grade. They live in Beaumont, Texas. Steve is an attorney and seminary student.

Brad Brown is the father of soccer player Ashley Brown, one of two girls killed in the crash. Ashley was thrown from her seat, ejected and crushed to death. She was a sophomore when she was killed. Brad has two sons, Ashley's surviving brothers, one in college and the other in 10th grade. Brad has spoken before NASDPTS and has been active in legislative campaigns in the Texas legislature and on Capitol Hill. Brad is a CPA accountant in Beaumont, Texas.
