While school bus safety is handled on the state level, motorcoach safety changes must go through national legislation. Senators Brown (Ohio) and Hutchinson (Texas) proposed Motorcoach Safety Act S.554 to enforce safety measures for charter buses and passenger buses that travel from state to state.
